I’m far from a poetry buff, but I have loved Dorothy Parker since high school. I guess I’m just a sucker for intelligent, sarcastic women; they’re everything I strive to be. I’m also a sucker for Kate Spade, so when Kate first came out with a line of stuff featuring DP quotes, it was like winning the lottery. Except when you win the lottery, you get a bunch of free money, and Kate Spade is definitely not free. I couldn’t convince myself to spend my own money, but imagine my giddiness when many months later, my favorite wife surprised me with this bag for Christmas! She also got me a copy of The Portable Dorothy Parker (that I can carry around in my new bag! hooray!), which I highly recommend if you want to check out my girl DP. It’s all poems and short stories, so you can read a little or a lot at one time. Plus the cover is really cute.

  1. I have LOVED DP since before I can remember. I chose her for my poetry project in Creative Writing my senior year of high school – I read “Symptom Recital” (my fav) to the class, and I just remember everybody looking at me like, “Seriously?”

  2. Ha ha your favourite wife, that made me chuckle. Really love the white blouse, necklace, jeans, boots combination here. It looks really effortless but smart and put together. I hate jeans SO much, I really do need to set about finding the perfect pair but I just cannot be bothered 😦
