This was another one of my “networking” outfits, where I dressed like I was going to work so that I would blend in with the people I met with, who were (of course) wearing jeans.

I went kinda matchy matchy with the shoes, which isn’t usually my style. But when a dress already makes a big statement, I figure I don’t need to do a contrasting shoe. As long as I’m still living in the real world and not on Planet Fashun, this approach seems appropriate. But as you can see below, I can’t seem to NOT wear colorful accessories with this dress! Next time, I think I’ll wear it with a black leather jacket and black pumps.

I got this jacket in January as part of a suit and I wore it for the first day of my new internship (pictured below, far right). But as long as I’m only dressing business casual once a week, I might as well make my new “workwear” double as “studentwear.” Turns out Lucky Magazine wasn’t lying to us…you really can break up your suits and wear the blazer with jeans. But when Vogue said you could wear a feather headdress and a $2000 mesh top with no bra, it was definitely lying. (Anna Wintour, if you’re reading this, I’m totally kidding. You’re a genius. Please give me a job. Love, Sarah.)

Summer…ish

After I got these photos uploaded and I was ready to tell you how I wore this outfit on the first day of summer, I realized that I actually wore this on Thursday…which was the last day of spring. But because (1) I’m lazy and (2) this would in fact have been a perfect first-day-of-summer ensemble, I’m just going with it. I’ve always been ahead of my time. In this case, it was just one day, but still.

Blue Jean Baby

Unless you’ve been living under a rock (I’ve never understood how that living situation would work anyway – do you pay property taxes?), you probably know that colored jeans have been trending over the past couple years. But here’s a conundrum: aren’t all jeans “colored” unless they’re white? I mean when people say “colored jeans” or “colored denim” they’re talking about jeans that aren’t blue. Right? But blue is a color, people.

And as if that’s not enough of a conundrum, what do we call these jeans? They’re not regular jeans, but they’re still blue. So they’re blue colored jeans? Is anyone else’s mind exploding?!
