I started Bar review classes this week after 10 blissful, study-free days. You didn’t think I was actually done, did you? Don’t be ridiculous! Becoming a lawyer in just three years of school would be way too easy. I figured this shirt was appropriate for the first day of this next stage because it feels like there’s always an “and then…” with law school. You make it through a semester, and then there’s finals. You make it through a year, and then there’s another one, and then another one. You graduate, and then you have to study for the Bar, and then take the Bar, and then find a job so you don’t feel like you’ve wasted your life and spent tens of thousands of dollars for nothing. No pressure though.

I wore this outfit to school a couple weeks ago – waaaay back in the summer. So long ago. I got a ton of use out of this blazer over the past few months but I think it’s going into storage pretty soon. It’s just a little too summery looking for the fall and winter. But I really want to find a cool-weather version. Maybe with some purple and navy? That would be nice. Everyone – this is your task. Find me a fall floral blazer. I mean with all the links I give you to cute clothes every day, you owe me one, right? Make yourselves useful.

As you might remember, Tuesday was my wedding anniversary. And because I am the best wife ever, I planned a whole surprise weekend of fun for Kristin in Bloomington. In case you don’t know, Bloomington is the best college town in the universe – and more importantly it was OUR college town. If you ever find yourself in southern Indiana, you MUST go. But first send me an email and I’ll tell you everywhere you need to check out. I’m serious about this.
Over the next couple days, I’ll share what I wore and some of the fun we had, too. By the end you’ll probably be packing your bags as fast as you can to go to Bloomington. You should be, anyway. Actually, just stop reading now and start packing.
On Saturday I dropped Kristin off for some pampering at Massage on the Square, then sent her on a scavenger hunt around the IU campus. Then we went out for brunch at FARM, did some wine tasting at Oliver, and checked into our awesome room at the Walnut Street Inn. See how I’m planning your trip for you already? You’re welcome.
This outfit was from Saturday night, when we went out to dinner at the Trojan Horse and then went back to FARM for a cocktail. On any normal day, a plate of flaming cheese would be the high point. OK, maybe it was still the high point. It’s hard to compete with flaming cheese. But the other stuff was pretty damn awesome too.
(See more photos of the weekend on my Instagram feed.)

I know you’re 90% here for my supreme literary wit, but the comments on this post will be short because I’ve been too busy this weekend having a fantastically exhausting time entertaining my family while they’re in town!
I wore this outfit last week to see the Broadway tour of West Side Story which was seriously SO. GOOD. Speaking of Broadway, did anyone else watch the Tonys last night?!

Happy Sunday, everyone! I thought I’d take a couple minutes out of my very busy-being-unbusy day to share this outfit from the last work week.
This was one of those days when the outfit I had planned out the night before just wasn’t what I thought it would be once I put it on. So I started from scratch, threw a bunch of pink things together, and got this. I actually really like wearing this, so all’s well that ends well, I guess. It’s kind of like when a couple isn’t trying to have a baby but they get pregnant anyway and they’re happy because it’s the miracle of life or whatever. Except I don’t have to clean up this outfit’s poop or pay for it to go to college, so this is more the commitment level I’m comfortable with.
Enjoy the last few hours of your weekend!

I know you guys have been losing sleep over this, so good news: I purchased 2 more things from my Spring Wish List! Unlike other bloggers who just make wish lists so you’ll click on their affiliate links for commission, when I share my shopping list, it’s actually my shopping list. (OK, I use affiliate links too, but a girl’s gotta eat. And by “eat” I mean “buy more shoes.”)
Now I can put a virtual check mark next to floral blazer and distressed skinny jeans. To show my excitement about my great achievement, I wore them both together to see a community theater show (Follies – it’s like musical old people porn).
Anyway, these jeans are designer (Joe’s Jeans – amazingly comfy) and normally run around $170, but I found them at Nordstrom Rack for $80. The problem: they were about a million inches too long, and they were more straight leg than skinny.
I took them to my tailor to have them hemmed and tapered, and $16 later, here they are! They sort of have a relaxed boyfriend fit at the top, then turn into skinny ankle jeans at the bottom. What should we call them? Bankles? Anklefriends? I’ll keep working on it…
Have a great week, everyone!
