You know what happens when a cheap store does a collaboration with a famous designer? People wait in line at dawn or set an alarm to shop online in the middle of the night, and they buy a bunch of stuff without thinking because they’re afraid everything will sell out. #buyallofthethings
That’s exactly what happened with the Phillip Lim for Target line last fall. Remember the obsession over the bags? Oh man. Anyway, I was one of those people waiting in line at Target, and that’s when I got this dress that is in no way a closet staple. BUT. Can I just point out that I have now worn it in 3 different seasons?
Take that, impulse buying! If I can make it work for fall, I’ll take that as a sign that everything I ever want to buy is a good decision.

OK, here’s what happened while I was getting this post ready: I was resizing these photos and saving them under new file names. I wore this to the Broad Ripple Art Fair over the weekend, so I was naming the files “artfair1,” “artfair2,” etc. Meanwhile, in my head I was thinking of genius things to write (per usual).
Then apparently my fingers got ahead of my brain because I typed “fartfair” for one of the file names, and I laughed so hard that all my genius ideas disappeared. I think you’ll agree that’s a totally normal adult response, so you’ll forgive me for my lack of relevant commentary today.

I don’t think I ever got around to telling you what I did last weekend (although it was documented on Instagram just like everything else I do). Well, after a super boring but super mandatory test Saturday morning, we headed down to Bloomington. Saturday was cold and rainy, but Sunday warmed up and was pretty darn gorgeous. Gorgeous enough to warrant a cute dress and a stop by Oliver Winery on the way out of town. I’ve been there a dozen times, but does tasting wine ever get old? I think not. I may or may not have taken home a couple “souvenirs.”
