I just grabbed this skirt and these shades from Madewell a couple days ago (and when I say “grabbed,” I don’t mean I stole them – I literally did grab at these sunglasses as soon as I walked in the door and saw them because they’re so freaking awesome). I’m pretty excited about the skirt because I’ve been wanting a black and white striped skirt for awhile, but it’s hard to find one that doesn’t make my lower half look like a bloated upside-down pear. I like this one because it doesn’t taper into the knee, and I think the way the side panels break up the lines creates an optical illusion that’s a little more slimming.
In fact, I love this skirt so much that I’m making it my Take One, Pass it On item, so you’ll see it again tomorrow! (In case you forgot already, this cardigan is my repeat from yesterday.)

This was an outfit I wore last weekend to go out for some food and run some errands. Why am I showing you an outfit from 5 days ago? Because I’ve spent most of the week so far at home studying in my PJs. In fact, when was the last time I changed my PJs? I hope it was within the last 36 hours but I don’t remember. My life is so fabulous I can hardly stand it. You guys wish you were me, don’t you?

With such a sassy outfit, I should have a sassy title for this blog post, right? Well, maybe I’m just tired, but I can’t think of anything that doesn’t have “meow” in the title. We all know I’m a cat lover, but that is too cheesy even for me.
So how about instead we skip the title, and just talk about how glad I am that I finally have a leopard (or cheetah…I’m not a zoologist) cardigan in my closet? I don’t know how survived so long without one.
Or we could talk about how much I love mint green and how I fully plan on wearing it forever, even if just in accessories.
See, so much to talk about! You’ve totally forgotten about the fact that I don’t have a catchy title, right? Good. That’s just purrfect. <–Had to do it.
Sorry if I look a little windblown in these photos…I just got off my Harley. And when I say “Harley,” what I mean is “Nissan Sentra.”
A faux leather jacket was one of the items in my fall shopping list, and thanks to a sales alert from Penny Pincher Fashion, I scored this baby from Express for just $70, including shipping (regular price $118). I’ve always loved the look of a leather jacket over a girly dress, and now I’ve finally made it a reality.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go hang out with Danny Zuko and the other T-Birds.

Just a few quick pics of a simple (for me) ensemble I wore earlier this week. I didn’t actually have class this day – because I have the weirdest schedule ever this semester – but there were a couple workshops on campus that I wanted to go to, so I decided it was worth putting on clothes like a grown-up human being.
Oh, and I hope you’re not going to ask me how I tied this scarf, because I have no idea. I rolled it up a couple times, knotted it around my neck, and 6 hours later this is what it looked like.
Some people climb Mount Everest. Some people gamble their life savings. Some people eat that poisonous puffer fish thing. When I want to feel that rush that only comes from taking a big risk…I order something online – that’s on FINAL. SALE.
Whoa. Take a breather. I know; it’s pretty crazy. It was just a belt this time, but next time, who knows? Maybe I’ll order PANTS on final sale. Just kidding…that’s insane.
Well, I got super lucky with this final sale belt, because I love it even more in person than I did online, and it fits perfectly. Since I wore it over this kind of thick-waisted skirt, it was actually a liiiiittle snug, so I’m not sure if I will wear them together again. But it sure did look cute while it lasted.

I bought this skirt because I liked how the fabric said “I’m casual” but the structure said “I’m a lil fancy.” The problem? Is the skirt too casual for work (it’s not jeans but it is denim)? and is it too fancy for the weekend? I’ve mostly worn it for those in-between occasions like day-time parties, but on Thursday I wore it to work. Here’s how I rationalized it: the button-up shirt is so quintessentially “workwear” and the pearls and low bun tend to read conservative, so that all cancels out any suspicion someone might have that I just thought it was Friday (although that’s something I would do). The best part? My coworker wore actual jeans this same day. Man, I really over-think things sometimes.
Remember the last time I wore this skirt? It was another workday look.
