Looking back at this outfit, it wasn’t my best work. I decided to remix the skirt into something more casual for school, and I was inspired by a look I pinned recently. But in the inspiration version, the skirt is shorter and not flared so I think it balances out the bulky sweater better. In my version, I think the full skirt and chunky knit are a little overwhelming on my frame. Oh well, you win some, you lose some.

A pro blogger would probably just skip out on posting these photos, but I made a commitment to this Take One, Pass it On challenge, and I’m going to stick to it! The silver lining: my new pink bag is freaking adorable and makes up for everything. So this is actually the best outfit ever.

  1. l love this one and was thinking about how could recreate it when i read your comments. my only change might have been to use creamy/taupey knee socks instead of grey. I love the softness of this outfit.

  2. I learn so much from you. Thank you for talking about principles behind why some things work better than others. By the way I don’t think your frame looks overwhelmed. Question—what top would work with this skirt? Thank you!

    • Yay! It makes me happy that someone thinks my ramblings are helpful. As for what tops would look good…I loved how this skirt looked with the outfit I posted the day before this one (don’t know if you saw it…the post was called “Challenge Accepted”). I also think it would look great with a black sequin tee that I have for something dressier. I also think I’ll wear this skirt more often in the summer when I can wear it with lighter, thinner tops. So stay tuned! 🙂
