I’m glad everybody liked my midi skirt yesterday! You were probably hoping I would remix it for day 4 of Take One, Pass it On…sorry to disappoint, but I went with the shoes instead. Don’t worry; I promise you’ll see the skirt again soon!

But I would like to point out that I’ve stepped out of my comfort zone 2 outfits in a row: first the midi skirt, and now a baseball cap. I’ve probably worn a baseball cap sometime in my life but I couldn’t tell you when. Let’s just say that in the Spice Girls version of my life (which I think about often), I would never be Sporty.

I don’t know why, but I was a little nervous about wearing this hat all day at school. Maybe it’s because I don’t wear hats very often. I had to keep reminding myself that people wear baseball caps inside all the time. For some reason my head just felt so conspicuous. One person told me they liked my hat, but other than that, no one said anything. That could mean one of two things: (1) There was absolutely nothing strange about my wearing the hat, or (2) I looked so weird in the hat that everyone was afraid to comment on it. Like maybe they assumed I had a giant zit on my forehead or I accidentally shaved the top of my head so they didn’t want to ask me about the hat for fear of making me tell the embarrassing story.

Am I overthinking this? Most likely. Take to the comments and tell me the truth – am I pulling off the hat?!

  1. I totally understand the cap feeling weird. The only caps I have are for running. But this cap is sassy. Bugs me a little that the reds don’t match but what the heck is wrong with me!? I feel weird about wearing a hat inside too. I really like when you look directly into the camera too. Do you ever bust out laughing? Capture it! 🙂

    • It’s funny you say that because I actually picked these pants BECAUSE they match the hat! I guess different people have different definitions of “matching.” To me, they tie together because they’re different shades of the same color!

  2. You look super cute in this hat. Only one person mentioned it because the rest were jealous. & also because you always look wonderful so they didn’t want to have to mention it every day.

  3. You look cute in a hat, love the color! I never wear baseball caps because here in Minnesota every other mom seems to wear them for running errands and I think it’s a bit much. I mean there are other things to do when you have a bad hair day, trust me! (I don’t mean to imply that is your reason for wearing a hat :).) Also, right now my hair is much shorter than I want it to be and I think baseball caps look the best with a long pony tail hanging out (remind me never to cut it again). I pretty much have hair-envy everyday when I visit your site.

  4. For years, I wore a knit cap, starting early in the fall and extending late into spring, because I get chronic sinus headaches made worse by the cold. Now I cant wear it without looking like the idiotic young-Hollywood hipsters whose wool beanies rest on their tousled heads year-round in sunny California.
